Clarins Colour Breeze for Spring 2012: First Impressions and Swatches
Suffice to say, it was more than a bit weird to come in from the dark, cold, wet wintery weather and drag our minds from thoughts of Christmas and snow to focus on spring brights but, we did it. All in the name of the blog.
The evening was hosted by Clarins International Make-Up Artist Claude Defresne and features a delicious palette of pink, coral, bronze and teal tones.
The jewel in the crown of the collection is, undoubtedly, the Colour Breeze Face Palette (€37.00). Totally blown away as we were by the Passion Collector Face Palette from the Christmas collection, it was, perhaps, inevitable that we would be totally besotted with this flower-windmill hybrid embossed powder featuring juicy shades of hot pink, bronze and peach. This swatches pretty sheer and will be a gorgeous illuminating/highlight powder and, for our mega-pale sisters, even a blush!
Another stand out product that will, no doubt, be a huge hit with us liquid cheek product-loving Irish girls is the Instant Light Blush (€23.00). This cheek tint will be available in three shades, all limited edition, Vitamin Pink, Coral Tonic and Brown Fizz. These give a gorgeous dewy gloss to the skin which will definitely play into the clean, fresh look emerging for spring.
Eyes are catered for with the Eye Quartet Mineral Palette (€40.00) in Blue Sky, a stunning mix of blue-toned shadows. Dee is a massive fan of Clarins eyeshadows so, it will be interesting to see what she thinks of spring's offering! These can be used wet and dry so, would also make for great bright liner.
There are eight new Gloss Prodige lipglosses (€17.50) with yummy names like Papaya. All of them have a subtle pearlescence and smell divine (we were sitting in Skinflint sniffing them like lunatics!), really fruity. For girls who don't wear gloss, we are pleasantly surprised by these as they aren't sticky and are incredibly smooth.
The collection also contains four Joli Rouge lipsticks (swatches below), a mascara and the Instant Smooth Line Corrector Pen which is a repromote from spring 2011 and is absolutely fabulous for filling lines and priming skin.
The collection overall is a delicious feast of sorbet shades that will suit most everyone for the season ahead. Everything is light, fresh and clean but, still maintains the warm undertones of the winter season so, it's not too much of a drastic transition. Packaging is gorgeously luxe as usual and will be a joy to whip out of your handbag for a touch-up!
We especially love the powder and the Instant Light blushes so, expect to see them cropping up in make-up posts in the future!
Will you be picking up anything from Colour Breeze come January?
