Viva Irish: Skin Essentials By Mariga

It's been a little while since our last one, but we're back with another Viva Irish post, and it's one that I am pretty excited about.

Skin Essentials By Mariga is a line of no-fuss, Ronseal-style products that are designed with results in mind. There is no fancy-pants packaging here - what you are paying for is purely good ingredients that work hard to improve your skin. Best of all, the line is owned by an Irishwoman!

I met with Mariga herself the other week at the Professional Beauty 2011 Show and, honestly, she is her own best advertisement. Her skin is glowing, plump and perfect, not to mention the fact that she really is a lovely lady who knows what she is talking about! Mariga was kind enough to give us some products to try - read on to see what they are!

Sinéad wasn't with me at the time, but when I mentioned that she had dry skin, Mariga immediately suggested this Nourishing Oil , which contains essential fatty acids. It can be used either alone or mixed with moisturiser.

When we met, Mariga took a quick look at my skin and (correctly) suggested that I have, erm, a bit of a 'texture issue' (think scarring, uneven skintone, pores etc) and gave me this to even out my complexion. The Enzyme Exfoliator works by breaking down proteins in the skin to reveal smoother, brighter skin. You leave it on for 5-10 minutes and then rinse off. I've only used it a couple of times so far, but am already liking it, as I really think that micro-exfoliation is the way to go for my skin type.

Finally, we have the Blemish Control cream for spots. I'm really impressed with this, even after just a week! We'll be reporting back in a few weeks with an extensive review, but even going on first impressions, I'd recommend taking a look at this range and also the client consultation service that Mariga offers. Keep reading for more Irish products!
