This might surprise you but, these two Soap & Glory products are the first I have ever used. Sure, I have smelled, touched, swatched and pondered over the quirkily packaged products but, I have never needed anything at the time and they have never come to mind at times I do need something.
So, when a few products landed with us, I seized the opportunity to see what all the fuss was about and incorporated the Sugar Crush body scrub and Butter Yourself body butter into my shower routine.
Sugar Crush is unlike any scrub I have used before. It is really thick and firm and only spreads and scrubs on contact with water while all other scrubs I have tried are best used on dry skin and then showered off.
Most obviously, it smells delicious, almost like a really sweet cake batter. It also looks a bit like cake or cookie batter as it's the colour of brown sugar and has flecks of the sweet ingredient throughout. To top it off, this is a really effective scrub. It’s very gritty without being rough or sore and is particularly effective on elbows, knees and ankles. It doesn’t seem to be as oil-based as some of my favourite scrubs are so I would say this is absolutely ideal for pre-tan application. And for €11 you get a whopping 300ml tub so, you’ll be sorted for the Christmas party season!
Butter Yourself body butter is another yummy product if yummy can be used to describe a cream! It’s a very thick, luxurious body butter that, again, smells divine. While the scrub is super sweet, the body butter has an almost tart, citrus scent thanks to the inclusion of orange water juice and the brands new Fruitigo scent it would seem! I find this really refreshing post-shower when the hot water and steam have made me a little bit sleepy (Probably doesn’t help that I usually shower late at night mind you!) and this perks me up ever so slightly!
For such a thick product, Butter Yourself absorbs really quickly and leaves no greasy residue on the skin. My skin always feels really hydrated after I use this and it, thankfully, doesn’t irritate my eczema. I’m not too sure of the price of this one but, I presume it’s also in-and-around the €11 mark for the same 300ml tub. Feel free to correct me in the comments if you know!
For my first foray into the world of Soap & Glory I’m extremely impressed. You get a lot of bang for a very reasonable buck and everything from the packaging to the product to the result is faultless. These look lovely sitting on a shelf in my bathroom and I’ll definitely be taking a closer look at the range the next time I’m in Boots so, leave your favourite Soap & Glory products in the comments!
These products are part of Boots’ current 3-for-2 offer onskin and bath products which ends October 31st!
