Review & Rave: Face Atelier Ultra Foundation
I have a few foundations that I love and trust to last me the entire day, but that doesn't mean that I'm not willing to try something new...all in the name of blogging (ahem).
Enter Face Atelier Ultra Foundation. I've heard great things about this and it's been on my ''must-try'' list for an age. We were sent this along with some other bits a while back from Cloud 10 Beauty, and, after some rigorous testing, I can safely say that this is in my top three favourite foundations EVER.
Quite a tall order, right?! (FYI, my other two favourites are Lancome Teint Idole Ultra and MAC Studio Fix Fluid). First of all, the shade (Porcelain) is perfect for me. If you find that MAC NC15 can sometimes still be a little too dark, try this. Best of all , you can try a sample for €1 here before you commit to an entire bottle.
The packaging can't really be faulted - the bottle is nice, simple and ergonomic with a decent pump. You get 30ml of product, pretty standard for a foundation.
This foundation is a silicone-packed formula, and the brand advises to shake the bottle before use, as silicone is heavier than pigment. The silicone is quite evident upon application, as it glides on super-smooth. It blends into the skin seamlessly and doesn't just sit there like a lot of full-coverage foundations tend to.
If you use two pumps of this, it's a full coverage foundation, but, as a little goes a long way, I'd describe the coverage as buildable. The finish is just gorgeous - flawless with a slight dewy glow that is visible even under powder. It lasts really well - just as long as MAC Studio Fix - but I do tend to touch up with powder about once a day.
Overall, I totally recommend this and can't praise it enough, I think it's well worth €38 and would pay well above that price for such a good product. One bottle lasts an age, and I will definitely be replacing mine when it's gone. I use it for both daytime and nights out, and it photographs pretty well. I have it on in the picture below, so you can make up your own mind!
