However, this is no ordinary lipgloss. No, Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector is more of a gloss-cum-balm product that is honestly so wonderful I'm altogether questioning my decision to retire my lipgloss collection!
Texture-wise, it is smooth, silky and not the slightest bit sticky. That's not to say your hair won't get stuck in it and drag a streak of gloss super-sexily half way across your face but, hey, nothing's perfect right?! As this is also a lip balm, it is thicker than your average gloss but, thankfully, not in the least bit goopy.
The Natural Lip Perfector is also much more intensely pigmented than any gloss or balm I have ever tried. While it doesn't come close to achieving the opacity of a lipstick, it does give a nice and uplifting tint to lips! This is the shade 01 Rose Shimmer, a bright baby pink. Thankfully, this isn’t shimmery at all despite the name suggesting it is!
While I love the squeezey tube packaging, I'm not overly gone on the sponge applicator. It seems kind of unhygienic and, nine times out of ten, I find myself applying it with my fingers as opposed to directly from the tube. This is just a minor gripe but, something to keep in mind if you’re fanatical about germs and contaminated cosmetics!
Nourishing and moisturising with a hint of colour and shine, Natural Lip Perfector is what I would class as the perfect day-to-day lip product. It wouldn't be enough for me to wear at night or to an event of any kind but, it is ideal for work or for keeping in your pencil case for school or college. And, at €16 for 12ml, it isn’t the most expensive product in the world, especially since you get a balm and gloss in one that will last you a fairly long time!
