Review: The Body Shop Eye Definer
I have never actually tried any of The Body Shop's Eye Definers before. Furthermore, I had never tried an eye pencil with a smudger on the end of it (I know, I know, what rock have I been living under?!) so, suffice to say, I didn't exactly know what to expect. I took the pencil in Carbon Blue for a test-drive.
As a newbie to the draw n' smudge school of liner, what do I think? Well, I love the colour for starters. It's a gorgeous alternative to black in that it is a petrol blue tone. I also love the look of this smudged out, it's very flattering and makes for a super easy smokey eye. The smudger is really nice, very dense and hard and not at all spongy like I was imaging it would be.
While it does create a gorgeous effect, some work is required to get a decently smudged line with this. The pencil is very hard and not that easy to blend. In fact, I would say that it is the most pencil-like eye pencil I have ever tried. The upside of this is that your liner will last all day (it has a water-resistant formula), the downside is that it takes time, patience and a firm yet gentle hand to get the perfect line- It's too easy to pull, tug and drag unnecessarily at the eyelid for my liking so, you really need to develop a technique. (Apologies for my haggard appearance in the below pics- very long week at work!)

While this pencil doesn't exactly slot well into my roll-out-of-bed-and-leave-the-house-in-20-minutes morning routine, it is lovely for when you have a bit of time to get ready as, once it's on, it's not budging. It's not horrifically priced either at €12.50 and also comes in black (Carbon Black) and brown (Carbon Brown).
