National Eczema Awareness Week with La Roche-Posay

Despite being a sufferer of eczema for most of my life, I never knew there was a National Eczema Awareness Week. For those of you lucky enough not to be afflicted (over 50 million people in Europe are sufferers), eczema is a chronic allergic and inflammatory skin disorder which flares up periodically and can be visible on the face and body. The reason eczema is such a royal pain in the arse is because the inflamed patches of skin become extremely red, dry and itchy and you can do very little to make them go away.

National Eczema Awareness Week will run from the 19th to the 24th September to raise awareness about eczema and how it impacts those of us who suffer from it. The campaign is organised by the Irish Eczema Society and is supported by sensitive skin specialists La Roche-Posay.

La Roche-Posay's has introduced The 3 Step Routine to target and help areas affected by eczema and for the month of September, there will be 33% off The 3 Step Routine in pharmacies to offer eczema sufferers some relief. The 3 Step Routine includes washing the skin to remove previous treatments, soothing the skin to hydrate and protect and calming the skin in the event of a flare up.

The 3 Step Routine

Wash skin using either Lipikar Syndet (200ml tube/400ml pump RRP €8.50/€13.50) or Lipikar Cleansing Oil (200ml bottle RRP €13.50).

Soothe skin using Lipikar Baume AP (200ml tube/400ml pump RRP €12.50/€18.50).

Calm skin with a spritz of Thermal Spring Water (150ml RRP €9.50).
