The blogosphere has been positively buzzing with talk of the Best in Beaut.ie Awards show for the past week and, yesterday evening, the excitement came to a head in the fancy-pants surrounds of the Dylan Hotel.
With almost 70,000 votes cast in 48 categories across the three weeks, we finally found out which brands and products are leaders of the pack among Ireland's beauty fiends. MAC, unsurprisingly, stole the show with wins in the foundation, powder, eyeshadow, lipgloss, lipstick and brushes categories, as well as being crowned Best Overall Brand. Nods also went to Sally Hansen (nails and tan), Aussie (hair), Lancome (mascara) and even to Sudocrem (zit zapper). You can see which other brands reigned supreme here.
It was great to see some of our own personal favourites take the title but, on a more personal and less materialistic level, it was such an amazing opportunity to meet so many of the bloggers we read and talk to on a daily basis. The list is pretty exhaustive but, some of the lovelies we spent the evening gabbing with include Karen and Joanne, Claire, Paula, Sue, Mags and Síle, Dee, Ciara, Emma, Joanne, Lorraine and Leanne.
After many hours of raucous laughter and screeching (I'm sure everyone at the Dylan loved us!) as well as a glass or five of West Coast Cooler who were sponsoring the event, we were all famished and quick-marched it down the road to get some Eddie Rockets! To say we outstayed our welcome would probably be putting it mildly but, once you put 15-odd beauty bloggers in a booth together well, we're not going anywhere fast!
A massive thank you must go to all involved for putting on such a spectacularly girlie evening but, especially to the Beaut.ie sisters, Kirstie and Aisling. Such an occasion was never more deserved by anyone and, it's probably safe to say they're the reason why the majority of us are blogging ourselves!
Congratulations ladies, we're already gearing up for next year!
Here are the only two picture we have of the night (Bad Bloggers...too busy yapping!)
