Dublin Fashion Festival Launch
The launch of the second annual
Dublin Fashion Festival (8th-11th September) took place last night in the Banking Hall of the Westin Hotel.
We went along to see what trends were emerging for AW 11/12 from stores like Brown Thomas, Arnotts, Penneys and Clerys.
Orange and tweed seems to be the order of the season for women while fashion-conscious men can expect skinny trousers, pointy ankle boots and a lot of tailoring. For both sexes,
Mad Men-esque style is paramount.
The Banking Hall, which is a spectacular room with chandeliers and ornate vaulted ceilings, was cast in a pink hue (
hence why all of these pictures are a pink overload!) and it was very posh and girly altogether! There were various booths including demonstration by LA Make-Up Academy, manicures by Nu Essence and even a milliner crafting gorgeous fascinators! Drinks were flowing courtesy of
eve, a sparkling, girly alcoholic drink (
not really our cup of tea but, it was perfect for this event!) and there was a sushi bar and, our favourite, a white chocolate fountain with marshmallows and fresh strawberries and pineapple ready for dipping! Divine!

Wow, looks amazing. I would have loved to go to this! I'm torn on whether the white chocolate fountain or LA Make-Up Academy Demonstration would pull me in first :)
ReplyDeleteIt was pretty cool alright! Haha I know we gravitated to the chocolate though! x
