This is a tag that recently started on YouTube, I saw it on MsLusciousLaura's channel and decided to do a blog version. The idea behind the tag is to suggest some products that are suitable for the summer months, so I hope this is helpful!
1. Lip Product
If you read this blog as all you'll know that my love for lipstick will never die. However a better product for hot days would be a lip tint - they're huge this year. One of my favourites so far is the Revlon Just Bitten lip stain in Passion. It's a gorgeous bright pink that lasts all day, plus there's a balm on the other end which is really handy.
A cream blush is a nice choice for summertime as it gives such a natural, glowy look. A great affordable choice is Max Factor Miracle Touch Creamy Blush in Soft Pink. It's a tiny (and fairly boring) little container but a little goes a long way and it's a gorgeous colour.
3. Nail Polish
I think brights are a must for any summer wardrobe, and let's not forget our nails! One of the nicest summer shades I've seen lately is Yellow Kitty by Sally Hansen. If, like me, you can't afford to fork out €21 for Chanel's Mimosa, this is a more affordable alternative.
4. Liquid Face Product:
A lighter foundation is a must for the summer months, and this is my pick of the bunch. Max Factor Xperience is lovely and weightless, doesn't block pores, but still offers a decent amount of coverage - I'm not a tinted moisturiser kinda girl!
5. Powder Face Product:
A loose powder is a great way of keeping oily skin in check during the summer months. Clinique Loose Powder is one of my favourites as it gives a flawless finish and you get loads in the tub!
6. Hair Product
My hair is naturally quite frizzy and unruly, and even more so in the warmer months. To control this I use my favourite hair product, Frizz-Ease Thermal Protection Hair Serum. If I'm in a complete rush, I can get away with just using this and letting my hair dry naturally. It's a total godsend in a tube!
In the summertime I can't stand wearing any kind of makeup that melts. Gel liner is the best solution to combat this problem, and my favourite is Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Gel Eyeliner in Black Ink.
In keeping with the low-maintenance, laid-back theme of summer, Dove Summer Glow gives me the best results with minimal effort. I just slap it on every second night or two and the results are always natural and non-patchy.
9. Fashion Accessory
Maybe this is a bit of an obvious one, but one of my favourite accessories for summer is a flower in my hair. I got this one in Penneys (it has a hair grip on the back) and it looks really pretty with the colour of my hair.
10. Clothing Piece
I have a major obsession with floral dresses and this is my latest favourite from Topshop. You might recognise it from this post. I really love it and I'll be wearing it all summer!
