Ramblings: Operation Naked, FOTD, Lip Liner Issues

I was going to split this up into two or three different posts but, I figured it would all sit relatively well together!

First on the agenda is Operation Naked which is not as dirty as it sounds! This is merely me holding my hands up and admitting that I have had possibly THE most coveted make-up palette in the history of the world since the day it was released and I have used it a grand total of...twice. *hangs head in shame* The abandoned item in question is, of course, the Urban Decay Naked Palette.

Why, you might ask, have I neglected it so much? Honestly, I do not know.

When I picked it up- I actually got it in a Debenhams 20% off sale so it wasn't even full price, I thought it was gorgeous. However, I had never used UD shadows before and when I swatched these I was...disappointed. They were so creamy and soft for powder eyeshadows, the fallout was dire and the shimmer ones were uber shimmery. I just wasn't impressed. It wasn't what I was used to.

And so, Naked was resigned to a life in the back of my eye make-up drawer, never really to see the light of day unless it was being moved just so I could reach some other, more superior, product. (Side Note: I do use the 24/7 liners in Whiskey and Zero though.)

But, now I feel bad. I have what is still, over a year later, the most lusted after cosmetics item in the beauty community and I don't use it. So, with that in mind, I have decided to launch Operation Naked which means that, for the foreseeable future, I will only be using the Urban Decay Naked Palette.

Which leads me quite nicely onto item two on the agenda, my FOTD, using the aforementioned palette.

On my face I have Bare Minerals foundation in Fairly Light (review coming soon!), Bare Minerals Mineral Veil and a sweep of MAC MSF in Soft and Gentle across my cheeks.

On my lips I have Vaseline and MAC Lipstick in Shy Girl.

On my eyes I have MAC Paint Pot in Rubenesque and, from the Naked Palette, Toasted all over the lid, Hustle in the crease and a small bit of Darkhorse in the outer corner. I brought Hustle under the lower lashline. I lined my eyes using the Rimmel Flash Eyeliner I got at the A¦Wear/Rimmel Event and used Rimmel's Lash Accelerator mascara, also from that event. On my eyebrows I used MAC Brow Pencil in Fling.

The pictures were taken in natural light but the red
undertones of Toasted and Hustle were hard to
pick up.

And, finally, I am on the hunt for a good coral lip liner. I have two gorgeous coral lipsticks; MAC Ravishing and MAC Dressmaker, Dressmaker but, cannot for the life of me find a suitable liner. Any suggestions would be most appreciated!

MAC Ravishing
Love,
