As much as I adore make-up, I can't always justify spending ridiculous amounts of money on it. My collection of brushes is exemplary of this - as much as I would love a full range of MAC brushes I could never afford them, so the only one I own is the 187. The price point of MAC brushes also drives me insane as they must be making a fortune on them if Sigma can afford to make brushes of equal quality and sell them for less!
A fantastic alternative to MAC brushes that I have recently discovered is the range of brushes available in Hairspray, Wicklow St, Dublin 2. I own three of them (the two that are pictured and also a blush brush) and use them every day. I think it was LittleKiva on YouTube who turned me on to these - she is a fantastic make-up artist and frankly, if these brushes are good enough for her, I am also more than happy to use them!
Ever since I bought Bobbi Brown Gel Liner last summer, I've been on the hunt for the perfect brush to apply it with. An angled brush just didn't seem to work for me, and I found that my Make Up For Ever 1N was a bit too big. So recently myself and my friend Jenny went into the Art and Hobby Shop and found the perfect solution. This brush from Winsor and Newton is fantastic quality and was only €4.60. Another Irish MUA on Youtube that I love, LetzMakeup, also uses a paintbrush for gel liner. Well worth trying!
