Haul: (Mostly) Cheap Stuff!

Bourjois Healthy Mix Concealer, Essence Liquid Eyeliner, MUA Lipstick in Shade 11, Revlon Matte Lipstick in Stormy Pink

I've picked up a few things recently in Boots and Superdrug, which I've been meaning to blog about for far too long!
Healthy Mix Concealer: I got this after seeing that it was recommended by LetzMakeup a while back. I needed a fairly decent, cheap concealer and this is doing the job nicely. It works well for both blemishes and the undereye area but for really bad blemishes you'd definitely need something thicker like MAC Studio Fix. Still a great buy and works well with the matching foundation!

Essence Liquid Eyeliner: I got this upon the recommendation of another great blogger Leanne. It is amazingly long-lasting and pigmented for the price- less than €3!

MUA, Revlon, Essence

MUA Lipstick: For only €1.20 this was a great buy. I love the shade - it's a pretty pinky-coral which is perfect for daytime when I don't mind re-applying. It's not particularly long-lasting but putting a gloss or Lipcote on top helps, and I actually like the formula overall because it's not drying at all.

Revlon Lipstick: I really like the shade but I'm still not totally sold on Revlon lipsticks. I bought this because it was reduced in Superdrug - it definitely wasn't worth paying full price for. I much prefer Rimmel or Maybelline for drugstore lipsticks but I'm sure I'll end up buying more of these at some stage! A great lipgloss to pair with this is Barry M Glossy Tubes in Bubblegum Pink.

Cherry Carmex: I grabbed this last minute when I was paying at the till in Superdrug and I'm so glad I did! It's not as amazing as my favourite lip balm Blistex MedPlus, but it is still great quality. The taste and smell is also gorgeous plus it's SPF 15 :)

Dr. Nick Lowe Oil Control Day Cream: My last purchase was definitely not cheap -I think it was about €24 but I got €7.50 off with a Boots skincare voucher. I had high hopes for this cream and after using it for about three weeks, I don't think it has fulfilled all of my expectations. It is definitely a nice cream and it does mattify your skin. However I just don't think it cuts it as a decent moisturiser, especially at this time of year. I'm still getting small patches of dryness on my face which hasn't happened in ages.

It hasn't really improved the texture of my skin and I don't agree with the 'anti-blemish' claim. I prefer moisturisers with a pump as a jar is less hygienic. I will use it up but won't repurchase. If you're looking for a better mattifying moisturiser I'd recommend Vichy NormaDerm Tri-Activ or La Roche-Posay Effaclar M. They're both cheaper too!
