Blue Steel Simple Smokey Eye

I called this look Blue Steel because while it is just a simple silver/grey/black smokey eye, I used a royal blue eye shadow all over the crease area so, when the light catches it, it shines blue. The effect is really lovely and makes a standard smokey eye a little bit different! The blue is really evident in the pictures with no flash after the jump.

With Flash

As you can see, with the flash there is very little to say that it is anything beyond a grey smokey eye. However, in the pics below you can see the blue showing through.

I first used MAC Paint Pot in Bare Study, all over the lid and up to the brow. I then packed MAC Electra onto the lid so it was really vibrant.

In the crease I put MAC Print and in the outer corner I used MAC Black Tied and then blended that into the crease.

No Flash: Hint of blue

Then, using the same brush I had used for Print and Black Tied, I picked up some of MAC Deep Truth and swept it through the crease, really focusing on the outer corner. I then brought Deep Truth under the lower lashline and smudged it out.

MAC Crystal Avalanche was my inner corner and brow highlight colour. I lined my water and titeline using MAC Eye Kohl in Blooz.

No Flash
I think the blue tones down the intense smokey effect and makes it more wearable for daytime as well as giving an unexpected injection of colour!
